THE ISLAND
Culture & Tradition
In Alonnisos nature celebrates. In this spirit, dozens of festivals and traditions attract the visitor’s interest. The local pure ingredients, the Alonnisos people’s spirit, the rich history, religious devotion and the enchanting landscape combine to create the backdrop for the events that take place all year round.
With the support of the INTERREG III C program, the Municipality of Alonnisos implemented a proposal within the framework of the Investment Plan that involved the creation of an exhibition space for local folklore material and photography. The result is impressive. The Traditional House of Alonnisos will take you to the era of our ancestors through traditional embroidery, looms, well-preserved furniture – antiques, and a plethora of rare utensils and accessories.
